Areas of Focus

Within each area of focus, Ascend participants will work alongside seasoned ministry professionals who will mentor and invest in them on a regular basis. In addition, interns will get hands-on experience in leading their area, gaining invaluable experience and building relationships that will serve as a foundation for future ministry opportunities.

There are ten areas of ministry for Ascend participants to choose from.

Preschool Ministry

Demonstrating God's love to children ages birth through 4 years old through loving care and age appropriate instruction

Children's Ministry

Investing in the lives of 1st through 5th graders by sharing the Truth of God in fun and exciting ways through Scripture

Student Ministry

Shepherding middle and high school students during an important growing phase in life by living real life with them

College Ministry

Guiding young adults towards walking with the Christ as they step from the educational and student world into the life of a young professional

Discipleship and Small Groups

Encouraging spiritual growth while finding a sense of belonging in small groups of 8-12 people

Worship

Leading others to worship God through music and the various aspects of worship arts

Pastoral Leadership

Studying and following Biblical examples of leadership in an effort to develop disciples

Pastoral Care

Providing spiritual guidance to the sick, lost and hurting

Missions

Spreading the Good News of Christ with people groups across the world and right around the corner

Church Communications

Communicating the vision and mission of the local church while uniting with all ministry areas to communicate strategically with impact
