One thing we’re sure of is this: God knows exactly what we need before we even know to ask for it. He’s got a perfect plan that we get to watch the unfolding of. That’s certainly the case when He brings someone on staff at Pinelake at just the right time.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to Troy Page, a new staff member here at Pinelake and someone who came at just the right time. Troy will serve as the executive pastor of communications and provide leadership for the central communication and marketing efforts. If you see him or his family around, make sure you welcome them, and please pray for them during their transition.
So, who is Troy Page? We asked him to share a bit about himself:
What Brings You to Pinelake?
This has been one of those few times in life where you see God's hand orchestrating your steps in a very clear way. God has led us to this place.
I spent the past two years working as the executive director of marketing for Ramsey Solutions, Dave Ramsey’s company. After 17 years of being on a church staff, this was a new experience and a time of great growth. It was rewarding to bring financial discipleship to tens of thousands of churches across the country. I learned so much about digital marketing and the business side of leading an organization. These are things I will take with me no matter where God leads me.
As great as this was, God wanted to use this time to grow me, refine me and reignite my fire for ministry. Working for Dave Ramsey was an amazing opportunity, but in the end I can't deny that I'm a pastor. My heart is in the local church.
My wife, Lindsey, and I are expecting our second child in July. As a husband and father, I have felt a stirring to be closer to family. We miss having the support of family being near us and want our children to be influenced by their grandparents on a regular basis.
Back in January, I began to fast and pray about God's direction for my family and career. In February, while attending a worship service in Nashville, I felt God impress upon me the idea of both being in ministry and having family near us. For the first time, Jackson became a very real possibility.
Lindsey and I talked and prayed about this and decided to head in the direction of Jackson and see what God would do. Within a week I was talking to [Senior Executive Pastor] Tim Smith about how God could use us at Pinelake. After a lot of prayer, counsel and conversation, we believe God has led us to take on a role at Pinelake and move our family to Mississippi.
What Will Your Role Be?
As the executive pastor of communications, I will oversee all of our communications, marketing and video production. The goal would be to clearly and consistently communicate the vision and mission of Pinelake to our community and beyond.
I like to make sure that when people visit the website, drive into the parking lot and experience the worship environment, it is a consistent and clear message that will lead them to next steps in their faith.
What’s Your Background?
I had an amazing opportunity to work for Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas (where I’m from), for over 12 years. I started as a volunteer and later went on staff. During that time, I saw the church grow from 2,000 people to over 20,000 people with multiple campuses. I held a number of positions as a member of their executive team, chief of which was communications pastor. In this role I coordinated series planning and promotions as well as promoting conferences and other special events.
What are You Most Passionate About?
After working so hard to plan a new series, worship service or event, I love seeing people fill the seats and have an “Aha!” experience. I'm passionate about reaching people outside of the church and seeing them grow in their faith.
Tell Us about Your Family
Lindsey moved to the Jackson area when she was 11 and went to Madison Central. We met while we were both on staff at Fellowship Church in Dallas. We’ve been married six years and have a four-year-old little boy named Cohen. We are expecting our second child in July — a girl named Haven.
What’s Your Impression of Mississippi So Far?
People are very friendly, it's really hot and we love being two minutes from Mimi and Papa. I also really love the staff members I have met and look forward to building some great relationships.
What are You Most Looking Forward To?
Being part of a great team that is serious about reaching people with the message of Jesus. I look forward to developing the strategies that will take all our communications and promotions to the next level.
