Your Love, My Life
Scripture:
Psalm 63:3 — “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.” (NIV)
Observation:
The love of God, His acceptance of us, His mercy poured out on us, His grace covering us, His peace sustaining us, His power strengthening us, His hands upholding us… The Love of God expressed through our creation and reconciliation through Christ is better than life itself.
Application:
Very often I find myself separating your “love” from the rest of my “life”. My life can be defined as my relationships with others, my responsibilities, my duties, my hobbies, my passions, and my dreams. Why I do this separation thing is beyond me. It is crazy to believe that somehow my “life” lived separate of your “love” and the impact it has on me is even really worth living at all. David says that your love is dearer to him than even his own life. I believe that this morning for my life. I desire for not only my lips to glorify you today but my actions as well.
Prayer:
Father my prayer is that the truth of your love would be my very life today. That your acceptance, mercy, grace, peace and power would be what drives my relationships, responsibilities, duties, hobbies, passions and dreams. Your love is better than my attempt at life. May your love be my very life today.
