Hide Your Word in My Heart

July 22nd, 2008
Scripture:
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the Grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 1:13

Observation:
Peter is writing to Christians about how to follow God in everyday life. I keep coming across the word “therefore” as I am reading in the word. Almost every time I come to it there is something huge behind it; an instruction, a blessing or a conciseness whether good or bad. I am learning to look for the therefore in the Bible.

Application:
This verse is great instruction for me in my journey with Christ. I love that unconditional love relationship between my Father and me. At the same time I need to be careful of being complacent in the day to day living stuff. To prepare my mind for action I need to know the Word of God and memorize it to hide it in my heart. So in times of struggle it is there for me to wrap my thoughts around. My only true hope is in God and the gift of grace He so freely has giving me. I do desire to prepare my Mind for action and keeping my spirit sober as to be aware of things going on around me and sensitive to what God wants me to do.

Prayer:
Father please help me to hide your word in my heart, so that my thoughts are more of you and less of me. Help me to understand that my only true hope is in you. Thank you for your love and guidance today.
