The Greatness of God
Scripture:
Isaiah: 40:31 – “Yet those who wait on the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.”
Observation:
Isaiah wrote in chapter 40 about the greatness of who God is. I can’t get the song, “How Great is our God” out of my head now. God is the creator of the universe, He is Elohim! This chapter is also about the restoration of HIS people. The release from years of captivity, to bring them back to Himself as HE always promised to do.
Application:
He THE Creator loves me! Created me, knows me by name, and is fully aware of my good, my bad and my ugly. HE RESTORES ME. I can so easily try and live in my own strength where I find myself weary and tired all the time. I have learned that when I am relying on God. RESTING in Him I am no longer tired but I get so excited about what God is doing. I get to follow HIM can you believe that I (Melinda) get to follow God in this great journey of restoration and love. When I am living in my strength He at times puts me in Time Out so that I will stop and look to Him and learn more about who He is and what He wants for my life.
Prayer:
Father you are the Creator, Elohim. You are awesome and powerful and full of love that I’m still learning about. Thank you so much for restoring me, and that I can rest in your strength and love.
