Brothers of Mine
November 26th, 2008
Scripture:
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:40
Observation:
I love how you describe in this passage how you sit on your throne, the King eternal, and separate individual people to your left and right. How you know each person and are able to decipher their every deed, what they did or did not do with You and the people in need around them. I love how you call those hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, the strangers and the prisoners brothers of mine. Though you are exalted, seated on your throne you still closely associate yourself with the lowly. This morning I see that though you are seated on the throne of glory your heart is still close to those who are hurting.

Application:
I pray today that I see the close association in your heart between yourself and the people surrounding me that are in need. May I desire today to treat the least of these as honored guests in my day, in my life. May I see them as your closest friends. May I never cease to feed, give drink, clothe, heal, make at home and visit those in need. Thank you for surrounding me with the hurting and giving me the opportunity to serve them, to help them and to bless you in the process.

Prayer:
May I understand that those in need are my brothers and sisters. They are honored guests in my day, in my life. May I also remember today God that when I am in need, and when those around me are in need that you are close, that you are watching and that you care. May your Body rise up today and love and care for people.
