Remember the 4 Rules for Small Group Discussion
- Confidentiality. What’s said in the group stays in the group.
- No cross-talk. Be considerate of others as they share. Refrain from side conversations and texting during group time.
- No fixing. We are not in the group to fix each other. Jesus does that part.
- Sharing. Be sensitive to the amount of time you share. Don’t talk too much or too little. Every person brings something valuable to the group.

God doesn’t forget about prisoners, in fact some of His best servants have been in prison themselves---Joseph, Samson, Jeremiah, Paul, Silas, and Peter.
Read and discuss the questions below as we gain a better understanding of God’s heart towards prisoners.
Q1: Read Psalm 69:33 and Psalm 79:11. God loves people who are in prison. What do these verses tell us about God’s heart towards prisoners? What does this mean for how we view those who are in prison for whatever reason?
Q2: Read Matthew 25:36-44 and Hebrews 13:3. God wants us to minister to prisoners. What are some practical ways you can serve people in prison?
Q3: Serving people requires that we make room in our lives for others. With this in view, what do you need to do to make room in your heart and life to care for those who are in prison?
Q4: Let’s face it. For various reasons some of us find it difficult to love those who have committed crimes against others and society. What’s it does it mean for you to have God’s loving heart for prisoners?
Q5: God is in the business of transforming people. Psalm 68:6 and Psalm 146:7 says God leads prisoners to prosperity and has set prisoners free. Think of some people who are in prison and take a few minutes as a group praying for them.
