My wife and I started attending Pinelake in August of 2012. We’d been going to a traditional church for thirty years and had always been involved in Sunday School. We knew when we got to Pinelake that we wanted to join a small group and get plugged-in to that type of community. For one reason or another, we never did find a group that we both fit into. Shortly after, I spoke with the Adult Groups Pastor, who knew I had been involved with Men’s Ministry for years, and he asked if I would lead a men’s group.
I have always enjoyed being a part of men’s ministry and getting together with other men to spend time studying the Word, praying and encouraging one another. I was excited for the opportunity. We started out with just four guys but quickly grew. We are all from different stages of life, which has been a blessing as we are able to share with one another our experiences. We have men who have young children and we have men who are caring for ailing parents — all seeking what God has for them.
"We’ve been able to pray together, share with one another what God is teaching us, and encourage each other through tough times."
This men’s group has been a blessing to all of us as we have come together to grow deeper in God’s Word and in our relationship with Christ. We’ve been able to pray together, share with one another what God is teaching us, and encourage each other through tough times. It’s been amazing to see these guys come alive as we study Scripture together. I have been blessed to be a part of a small group, and I look forward to how God is going to continue to help us grow.
