IS EQUIP A SEMINARY?
No. Equip includes seminary-style lectures from academically credentialed Christian theologians. The lectures are specifically designed for our church family. The Equip courses do not count for academic credit toward seminary unless specifically noted by the Equipping ministry of Pinelake or partnering institutions.
WHAT IS THE COST OF EQUIP COURSES?
Equip courses are free to the Pinelake Church family. Participants must purchase the books from the required reading list for each course, but the lectures and workbook materials are free for cohort participants.
WHAT ARE THE EDUCATIONAL PREREQUISITES FOR PARTICIPANTS?
Equip has no prerequisite educational requirements. Equip lectures are taught at an undergraduate Bible class level. The workbooks and reading requirements are written for an associates/undergraduate audience, while Equip utilizes assessments and discussion posts designed for the application of the material. Participants should be comfortable with in-person theological discussions and online assessments.
HOW LONG ARE THE COURSES?
Each Equip course consists of 8 video lectures (approx. 1 hr each) that will be watched individually in the Pathwright digital learning platform. The participants of the cohort then gather for 4 in-person discussions (approx. 75 minutes each).
WHO IS EQUIP FOR?
Equip is designed for anyone in the Pinelake Family that wants more theological training. The courses will strengthen your spiritual foundation for understanding the Scripture and important theological concepts that flow from Scripture. Thus, you can be equipped to lead more effectively in our church family and for the kingdom mission of the church.
CAN I JUST WATCH THE VIDEOS TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
No, because Pinelake Equip requires more than the video lectures. The lectures are designed to accompany essential discussions that take place in the cohorts.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO LEAD A COHORT?
Cohort leaders are recruited by the Groups Pastors for each Pinelake campus. If you are interested in leading a cohort, visit with your Groups Pastor to hear about the requirements and opportunities.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE EQUIP JOURNEY?
Equip contains 20 courses total, consisting of 14 core courses and 6 electives. To receive the Pinelake Equip Certificate, a participant must complete the core seminars and at least 3 electives.
