Prayers For The Middle East

In recent days, the conflict between Israel and Hamas has escalated, resulting in loss, fear, and uncertainty across the region. As believers, our response isn’t political. It’s spiritual.

Our connection to Israel is rooted in God’s promises and His unfolding plan of redemption through Jesus. In this sermon from October 2023, Chip offers a biblical perspective and encouragement in the midst of conflict.

Why Israel Matters Spiritually

Genesis 12:1–3
God made a covenant with Abraham to bless Israel and, through them, bless all the families of the earth.

Psalm 122:6–9
We’re called to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and seek the good of God’s people.

Romans 9–11
Paul expressed deep sorrow for Israel’s rejection of Christ, but also hope. Though they stumbled, they are not forgotten. God’s plan includes a future turning of hearts and salvation for a remnant of Israel.

Revelation 7:4
The Bible points to a day when God will seal a remnant from every tribe of Israel.

How To Pray

Pray for Peace
Ask God to end the war, stop bloodshed, and give wisdom to world leaders.

Pray for the Hurting
Lift up those grieving, displaced, or living in fear, both in Israel and Gaza.

Pray for Salvation
Ask God to open hearts across Israel and among the nations to believe in Jesus.

Pray for the Stranded
Remember those unable to leave conflict zones or return home.

 Pray for God’s Glory
Above all, pray that God would be exalted, bringing comfort, courage, and peace.

Pray Psalm 46:1–11
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble… He makes wars cease… ‘Be still, and know that I am God.’”

Pray for One Another

Just like Jeremiah, some among us feel overwhelmed by sorrow (Jeremiah 20). If you’re hurting today—whether because of global events or personal pain—God sees you. And we’re here to pray with you.
