Key Passage: 2 Chronicles 32, 2 Kings 19, Isaiah 37
OPENING QUESTION
When have you seen someone trust God in the middle of a difficult situation? What impact did that have on you?
GROW
Faithful people still face hard times. Hezekiah was leading a revival, seeking God wholeheartedly, and yet the enemy still came to destroy him. That tension is familiar. But in the middle of trouble, Hezekiah didn’t panic or run. He prayed.
God uses pressure and hardship to stretch our faith, show His faithfulness, and display His glory. Through Hezekiah’s story, we see a pattern: take courage, invite others to pray, press into God, and wait on Him. Deliverance is not always immediate, but it is always rooted in trusting that God is still with you, still working, and still good.
- Why is it important to remember that hard times come to faithful people too?
- What stands out to you about how Hezekiah responded when he was surrounded by trouble?
- What does it look like to “take courage” and strengthen yourself in the Lord when things are hard?
- How have you seen God use a difficult time to stretch or grow your faith?
PRAY
When Hezekiah faced an impossible situation, he cried out to heaven. He invited Isaiah to pray with him and then personally pressed into God, not just with requests but with worship and trust. Prayer became the place where he surrendered control and asked God to glorify Himself.
- Is there a situation where you need to cry out to God right now?
- Who is someone you can invite to pray with you in this season?
- What would it look like to talk to God about your problem and then talk to your problem about God?
CONNECT
Hezekiah didn’t isolate. He invited Isaiah to stand with him in prayer. In hard times, we need others who know how to talk to God and who will help us keep believing. That kind of spiritual friendship can carry us through the most difficult battles.
- Why is it so easy to isolate during hard seasons?
- Who in your life has helped strengthen your faith when you were discouraged?
- How can our group be that kind of support for one another?
SHARE
When God brings deliverance, it’s not just for you. It’s a chance to glorify Him and help others trust Him too. Hezekiah’s story reminds us not to waste the miracle, but to let it deepen our roots and grow lasting fruit.
- Has God delivered you in a way that others need to hear about?
- What story can you share that would give someone else hope?
- What does it look like to let your life bear fruit upward after a season of trouble?
NEXT STEP
Choose one action for this week in one of the Be The Church rhythms:
Grow: What Scripture will remind you of God’s faithfulness?
Pray: What is your one thing you’re crying out to God for this week?
Connect: Who will you ask to pray with you or for you?
Share: Where can you tell someone how God has delivered or sustained you?
PRAYER
Close by asking God to give you strength and clarity in the middle of hard situations. Thank Him for being your Deliverer. Invite His presence, His power, and His peace into whatever battle you are facing, and pray for faith to follow Him on the other side.
