You want to grow spiritually. We want to help you. To do that, we collect data to better understand what kinds of topics and information you’re likely interested in, so that we can offer you the kind of help you actually want. We’re not going to sell your data or do anything weird with it. Promise.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We may collect all personal information that you provide to us, including, but not limited to, name, address, contact information, login information, household relationships, demographics, skills, and payment information.
We collect personal information that you provide to us when registering and/or completing forms on any of the Sites or App, including when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services when participating in activities on the Sites or App (such as posting messages in our online forums or entering competitions, contests or giveaways), when making donations or payments, or otherwise contacting us. This may include information we collect from you “offline”, such as when you attend or participate in an event or program we sponsor, or when we interact with you in other ways in person.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Sites or App, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect can include the following:
Name and Contact Data.
We collect your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data.
We collect all login credentials, including passwords and challenge questions used for authentication and account access.
We collect data necessary to process your payment if you make donations or purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. We do not store your credit card number or bank account numbers, except as required by law or with your consent. All payment data is also stored by our payment processor and you should review its privacy policies and contact the payment processor directly to respond to your questions.
Social Media Login Data.
We may provide you with the option to register using social media account details, like your Facebook, Twitter, or other social media account. If you choose to register in this way, we will collect the Information described in section 6. “Use of social logins” below.
In some cases, we will use a third-party tool (eg, Facebook) as a way for you to register for a Pinelake event, in which case we may collect your personal information from that third-party supplier.
You agree to provide us with accurate and complete personal information, and you are solely responsible for the accuracy of all information you provide to us
b) Information automatically collected
In Short: As is common on many websites and apps, some information – such as IP address and/or browser and device characteristics – is collected automatically when you visit our Sites or Apps.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Sites or Apps. Unless otherwise stated, we do not share information which may reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information), but we may share information which includes device and usage information, your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Sites or Apps and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Sites or Apps, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes, but in certain circumstances, we share part of this information with third parties. You may request information concerning the identity of these third parties at any time.
Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. You can find out more about this in section 6 below titled “Cookies and Similar Technologies”.
c) Information collected through our Sites or App
In Short: We may collect information regarding your geolocation, mobile device, push notifications when you use our website or app
If you use our Website or App, we may also collect the following information:
We may request access or permission to and track location based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application, to provide location based services. You’ll always know why you’re giving us this permission and how it is being used. For example, to allow you to find and connect with other Pinelake people in your same geography.
We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s Bluetooth, calendar, camera, reminders, SMS messages, social media accounts, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
Mobile Device Data.
We may automatically collect device information such as your mobile device ID, model and manufacturer, mobile phone number, operating system, version information, and IP address.
With your consent, we may send you push notifications, which may include information regarding your account, the Apps and/or Sites, or other information related to your use of our Sites or App. If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings, or make such requests directly to us in writing.
d) Information collected from other sources
In Short: We may collect and use data from public databases, marketing suppliers, social media platforms (including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, etc.), and other outside sources, to help us understand what kinds of topics might be most relevant to you, including web referrer information and remarketing pixels. This information may also be used by us to pre-populate forms and/or target our promotions, products and services to you. We recognized that sometimes the information we collect from third parties is changed without our knowledge, and not updated in our systems. As with the information you provide to us directly, you are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you provide to third parties which we may collect.
Examples of the information we may receive from other sources include: social media profile information (such as your name, gender, birthday, email, current city, state and country), your contact list, profile picture URL and any other information that you choose to make public; marketing leads and search results and links, including paid listings (such as sponsored links), video views, unique mobile IDs, and text services. Examples of information we may receive from other sources, but which may change over time includes your marital/relationship status, your current city, and similar identifiers.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use personal information collected via our Sites or App for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests (“Business Purposes”), in order to enter into or perform a contract with you (“Contractual”), with your consent (“Consent”), and/or for compliance with our legal obligations (“Legal Reasons”). We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.
We use the information we collect or receive:
To communicate with you about Pinelake news, events, products, and services, including events, products, and services we support from third parties.
To help you grow spiritually, by suggesting content, experiences, and community connections for you.
To enable staff in relevant roles to minister effectively to you and those around you.
To facilitate account creation, login process, and maintenance, with your Consent. If you choose to link your account with us to a third party account *(such as your Google or Facebook account), we use the information you allowed us to collect from those third parties to facilitate account creation, login process, and maintenance. See section 6 “Use of Social Logins” below.
To send administrative information to you for Business Purposes and/or Legal Reasons. We may use your personal information to send you product, service and new feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
To fulfill and manage your orders for Contractual reasons. We may use your information to fulfill and manage your orders, payments, returns, and exchanges made through the Sites or Apps, and/or for customer service and support purposes.
To match you with information from third-party databases that help us understand what kinds of topics might be most relevant to you.
To request feedback on our programs and services. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Sites or Apps.
To protect our Sites for Legal Reasons. We may use your information as part of our efforts to keep our Sites or Apps safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).
To enable user-to-user communications with your Consent. We may use your information in order to enable user-to-user communications with each user’s consent, and/or message boards, forums, Facebook groups (private or public), and similar co-called “community” environments.
To enforce our terms, conditions and policies for Business Purposes and/or for Legal Reasons.
For statistical analysis by Pinelake, to improve ministry to you, your family and friends, and others like you. This may include identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Sites or Apps, products, services, marketing and your experience.
For statistical analysis by trusted suppliers or ministry partners, but only after the data is anonymized (ie personal identification removed) or aggregated (so individual behavior is not identified).
3. WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH
In Short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.
We only share and disclose your information in the following situations:
Service Providers. We may disclose your information to trusted suppliers who build or operate systems and services on our behalf, under agreements which contain privacy control provisions.
Compliance with Laws. We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena (including in response to public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements).
Vital Interests and Legal Rights. We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
With your Consent. We may disclose your personal information for any other purpose with your consent.
We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not provide your information to third parties for purposes which do not relate to Pinelake events, products, and/or services.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website and/or apps. Cookies are widely used by website and app owners in order to make their websites and apps work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website or app owner (in this case, Pinelake ) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website or app owner are called “third party cookies”. What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?

5. USE OF GOOGLE MAPS
In Short: Yes, we use Google Maps for the purpose of providing better service.
By using our Maps API Implementation, you agree to be bound by Google’s Terms of Service. You agree to allow us to obtain or cache your location. You may revoke your consent at anytime. We use information about location in conjunction with data from other data providers, to the extent permitted by this policy or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
We may also use other map technology, site and/or app APIs for location-based services. You may request information about the other technologies we use at any time.
6. USE OF SOCIAL LOGINS
In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our websites using a social media account, or otherwise access any of our Sites or Apps (or products/services thereon), we may gain access to certain information about you.
Our Sites or Apps may offer you the ability to register and login using your third party social media account details (like your Facebook or Twitter logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, friends list, profile picture as well as other information you choose to make public.
7. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to maintain your personal information, we will either archive, delete or anonymize it.
8. HOW WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, please also remember that we cannot guarantee that any technological measure, the internet, or hardware or software, or any other hardware, software, app, or website, is 100% secure. Although we will make reasonable business efforts to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Sites or Apps is at your own risk. You should only access the services within a secure environment.
9. CHILDREN’S INFORMATION
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 13 years of age. By using the Sites or Apps, you represent that you are at least 13 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Sites or Apps. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
