OPENING HOOK
Think about the best news you’ve ever received.
The kind that stopped you in your tracks. The kind that changed everything.
Now imagine hearing news so good it doesn’t just change your day. It changes your eternity.
That’s what Paul is reminding the church in Corinth of. They were surrounded by noise, pressure, and confusion. And somewhere along the way, they started to drift. So Paul brings them back to center:
Jesus is alive.
And because He is alive… everything changes.
CORE REFLECTION
Corinth wasn’t that different from where we live today. It was busy. Ambitious. Full of opportunity and just as full of distraction. People chased success, status, and pleasure. And even inside the church, that culture started shaping how people thought and lived.
So Paul writes to remind them of what matters most.
He brings them back to the gospel.
Not as an idea. Not as a feeling.
But as reality.
In 1 Corinthians 15:1–11, Paul points to eyewitnesses—real people who saw Jesus alive after the cross. This wasn’t wishful thinking. This wasn’t a myth. Their faith was rooted in something that actually happened.
And that matters for us.
Because there are moments when faith feels shaky. When questions creep in. When life gets heavy. And in those moments, we don’t have to manufacture hope. We can come back to what is true.
Jesus really lived.
Jesus really died.
Jesus really rose again.
And because of that, the gospel doesn’t just inform us—it transforms us.
Paul’s own life is proof. He went from persecuting Christians to leading them. From opposing Jesus to surrendering to Him. And he’s honest. He didn’t deserve it. But grace met him anyway.
That same grace meets us.
No matter your past.
No matter your doubts.
No matter what you carry.
But here’s the thing, this gospel isn’t something we casually agree with. It’s something we surrender to.
Paul says if we “hold fast” to it, it changes us. But if we ignore it, we miss it.
It’s like holding a winning lottery ticket and never cashing it in.
The invitation is right in front of us.
Because Jesus is alive, we can have confidence—not just in eternity, but in how we live right now. It’s good news that:
Is rooted in reality.
Is transformative for everyone who believes.
Requires surrender.
And because of this, we share this good news with others.
This is what it means to Be the Church—not just believe the gospel, but live it and share it.
