Our Turn – Weston Savell
Key Passage: “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.”
— 2 Timothy 2:1–2
OPENING QUESTION
Who has had the greatest spiritual influence on your life, and what made their impact so meaningful?
GROW
Every follower of Jesus has received a baton.
Someone prayed for you. Someone taught you God’s Word. Someone shared the gospel with you. Someone modeled what it looks like to follow Jesus. And now, just as Paul challenged Timothy, we are called to remain faithful to the gospel and pass it on to others.
Paul begins with grace because faithfulness starts with what God has done for us, not what we do for Him. We are strengthened by His grace, transformed by His grace, and sustained by His grace.
- What stood out to you most about Paul’s instruction to be strengthened by God’s grace?
- Where do you need to rely more on God’s grace than your own effort right now?
PRAY
Paul knew Timothy would face challenges, opposition, and discouragement. That’s why he reminded him that strength comes from Christ.
When we pray, we acknowledge our dependence on God. Prayer helps us remain connected to the One who equips us to stay faithful in every season.
- What challenge or responsibility is currently driving you to depend on God?
- What would it look like to invite God into that situation more intentionally this week?
CONNECT
Paul’s relationship with Timothy reminds us that discipleship happens through relationships. Faith is not meant to be lived alone.
God uses people to encourage us, challenge us, and help us grow. The Christian life is both personal and relational.
- Who are the top spiritual influences in your life today?
- Who might God be inviting you to encourage or invest in during this season?
SHARE
Paul describes the Christian life through the images of a soldier, athlete, and farmer. Each one reflects a life of intentional faithfulness.
The goal isn’t simply personal growth. The goal is helping others encounter Jesus and faithfully carrying the gospel forward.
- Which image—soldier, athlete, or farmer—best describes where God is stretching you right now? Why?
- What is one practical step you can take this week to help someone move closer to Jesus?
NEXT STEP
Choose one action for this week in one of the Be The Church rhythms:
Grow: Read 2 Timothy 2:1–7 each day this week and reflect on where God is calling you to greater faithfulness.
Pray: Ask God each day to strengthen you through His grace rather than your own strength.
Connect: Reach out to someone who has influenced your faith and thank them for investing in you.
Share: Take one intentional step toward encouraging, discipling, or sharing your faith with someone this week.
